Avel an Douar, premier album

Initié en 2006 sur une idée du festival Africolor, Serendou est bien la rencontre de deux cultures. Avel an Douar est un album généreux porté par trois musiciens complices et complémentaires. Après plusieurs années de concerts, résidences et voyages en France et au Niger, Jean-Luc Thomas et Yacouba Moumouni décident d’enregistrer au Niger au centre culturel franco-nigérien de Zinder à l’est de la capitale Niamey.

C’est le témoignage d’une aventure
humaine et artistique exceptionnelle, dialogue de trois personnalités bien enracinées dans leur culture respective, curieux de l’altérité et de la différence.

La richesse mélodique et rythmique des flûtes et de la calebasse s’étoffe encore un peu plus et la conversation prend une autre dimension avec l’arrivée du kamélé n’goni, instrument traditionnel à cordes, et du chant…

Avel year Douar first album

Initiated in 2006 on an idea of the festival Africolor, Serendou is the meeting of two cultures. Avel Douar year is a generous album brought by three accomplices and additional musicians. After several years of concerts, residencies and travel in France and Niger, Jean-Luc Thomas and Yacouba Moumouni decide to record at the cultural center in Niger-French Niger Zinder in the east of the capital Niamey.

It is the testimony of an adventure
human and artistic achievement, a dialogue of three persons entrenched in their respective cultures, curious of otherness and difference.

The rich melodic and rhythmic music of flutes and gourd is expanding even more and the conversation takes another dimension with the arrival of kamele n’goni traditional stringed instrument, and singing…
