Tout en sillonnant l’Afrique et le monde depuis dix ans aux côtés de Tiken Jah Fakoly, JB Moundélé a décidé de faire résonner son saxophone à travers d’autres contrées musicales. Son premier album solo, intitulé Fanka Bi Na (« J’ai la force », en malinké), conserve tout de même de belles couleurs africaines : on pourrait l’estampiller jazz mandingue.

Over the last decade, while travelling Africa and the world with Tiken Jah Fakoly, JB Moundélé has decided to take his saxophone to other musical lands. This first solo album, Fanka Bi Na (‘I have strength’ in Malinke), nevertheless retains beautiful African colours and could be labelled as Mandingo jazz.
