Encounters 2010 – South African International Documentary Festival
12ème édition

The organisers of Encounters are proud to announce the dates and locations of the 12th edition of the South African International Documentary Festival: 12-29 August at Nu Metro Cinemas, V&A Waterfront and The Classic On Broadway, in Long Street.
ENCOUNTERS is a pivotal event on the film circuit calendar and will offer filmgoers an exceptional and varied selection of 40 of the best documentary films available locally and internationally, including 8 World Premieres.
Award winning South African director Cliff Bestall and Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman’s collaboration on the highly acclaimed 16th Man, is one of the Festival highlights.
Also featured is the entertaining and quirky Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyers Cut), a film produced for the BBC which tells the story from the inception to the present day of this legendary comedy group.
Another must-see this year is RFK in the Land of Apartheid: A Ripple of Hope, co-directed by Larry Shore and the award winning Tami Gold, which features previously unseen archive footage of this historic visit.
The Festival will host a number of local and international guests who will take part in Q&A’s and panel discussions. Masterclasses will also be on offer.
