África.es. 7 Miradas africanas sobre Espana


This exhibition is part of Arte inVisible, a comprehensive program in support of the visual arts in Africa. Seven African photographers give us their visual interpretation of seven different Spanish cities.

The Africa.Es exhibition is a result of a commissioned project by the Spanish ministry of culture. In August 2010, 7 photographers were invited to create works in equally 7 cities of Spain in the spirit of an African/Spanish exchange of view. The photographers and the respective cities include: Emeka Okereke (Nigeria): Madrid; Nii Obudai (Ghana): Valladolid; Arturo Bibang (Equitorial Guinea): Valencia; Zanele Muholi (south Afri…ca): Las Palmas; Mamadou Gomis (Senegal): Bilbao; Patrick Wokemeni (Cameroun): Seville and Mohamed Konate (Mali): Barcelona.

The grand opening takes place on the 15th of February 2011, at 8pm in the presence of all participating artists. It runs until the 3rd of March 2011. In the same week there is the International Art Fair « ARCO madrid 2011 ».
