English

On 25th August Professor Dr. Ing. Henry Nii-Adziri Wellington  will be our guest and will hold a lecture under the title "Bane and Blessing of Birthing a Book – My Emotive Experiences of Writing Stones tell Stories in Osu – Memories of a Host Community of the Danish Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade." He will share with the audience his experiences in writing the book and the pleasures and pains in going through the process of researching for, writing and watching the publication of the book.

The link between Ghanaian and Danish history and heritage is one of Professor Wellington's main research topics . His book about historical architecture in Osu is based on research findings obtained in 2007 after an architectural and community history research had been conducted at Osu, in Germany and in Denmark from 2005 to 2007 on the Danish period in Ghana from 1665 to 1850.

“Stones Tell Stories at Osu” after having taken about four years to be completed, was published and launched in November 2011 by the SubSaharan Publishers with a Danish Government funded assistance from the Ghana Cultural Fund.

The talk will cover the following points: The genesis of the book, the style and genre employed to write the book, summary of the content of the book, the bane and the blesssing of writing the book and in the end the conclusion and the story beyond Stones Tell Stories.
