We’re partnering with Live Unchained to present HAIR IN THE GATE: AFRICAN AND ASIAN DEITIES & DIASPORA WOMEN FILMMAKERS featuring British South Asian director Devika Ponnambalam‘s « BROKEN ETERNITY » and the Washington D.C. Premiere of « DELUGE » by Nijla Baseema Mu’min / 2012 Princess Grace Award- Cary Grant Film Scholarship (recipient: Nijla Mu’min) Calarts Diversity Grant).

Set in India and the U.K., « Broken Eternity » travels in time following the story of two lovers now reincarnated as father and daughter who struggle to overcome their sexual desire for one another. While « Deluge » set in Louisiana, focuses on a teenage girl who witnesses the mass drowning of her friends and is haunted by the decision not to jump in to try to save them.
