The Magic of African Cinema in solidarity with Haile Gerima
at Hanager Arts Centre and the Creativity Centre (Cairo Opera House)

Le Festival du Cinéma Africain de Louxor (LAFF) organise – à la salle Al Hanager cinema et au Creativity Centre – une semaine de cinéma africain intitulé « La Magie du Cinéma africain ».
Du 1er au 5 juin 2015, The Magic of African Cinema projette une sélection de films issus des quatre précédentes éditions du LAFF à la salle Al Hanager cinema et au Creativity Centre (tous deux situés au Cairo Opera house).
En parallèle avec le Cairo International Forum of the interaction of African cultures, le Festival de Luxor projette des films d’Algérie, Burkina Faso, Congo, Egypte, Ethiopie, Kenya, Libéria, Maroc, Niger, Rwanda, Afrique du Sud, Rwanda, Tunisie et Ouganda.
Le LAFF est heureux d’annoncer que pour la première fois tous les films seront traduits avec des sous-titres arabes.
Les films seront aussi montrés tout au long du mois de juillet à la Bibliothèque d’Alexandrie suivis par des formations animées par le célèbre critique égyptien Samir Farid.
Président du LAFF, Sayed Fouad dédie La Magie du Cinéma africain au cinéaste éthiopien internationalement connu Haile Gerima en solidarité avec lui après que le fonds ACP (Bruxelles) lui ait retiré sa subvention pour des raisons bureaucratiques. Gerima travaillait sur son film Yetut Lij ces quatre dernières années.
Haile Gerima participe depuis longtemps et de manière active à la redynamisation des cinémas africains et a récolté de nombreux prix internationaux pour son oeuvre et son engagement pour la réalisation en Afrique.
Directrice du Fonds ETISAL Fund, Azza El-Hosseiny appelle le Syndicat des cinéastes égyptiens, le festival de Carthage (Journées Cinématographiques de Carthage) et tous les professionnels pour soutenir Haile Gerima en s’associant cette importante manifestation cinématographique.

Luxor African Film Festival is organising a Week of African Cinema under the title « The Magic of African Cinema ».
From June 1 to 5 June,2015, The Magic of African Cinema will show a selection of films from the previous four editions of LAFF at Cinema Al Hanager and the Creative Art Centre in Opera house.
In parallel with the Cairo International Forum of the interaction of African cultures, LAFF will also show films from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Morocco, Niger, Rwanda, South Africa, Rwanda, Tunisia and Uganda.
LAFF is happy to announce that for the first time all the films have been translated into Arabic subtitles.
The films will also be shown throughout the month of July in the Library of Alexandria followed by seminars run by Egyptian film critic Samir Farid, the renowned film critic.
Sayed Fouad, President of LAFF, donates The Magic of African Cinema to the internationally acclaimed Ethiopian filmmaker Haile Gerima in solidarity with him following the withdrawal of the ACP fund for Gerima’s new film, due to bureaucratic reasons. Gerima has been working on his film Yetut Lij for the past four years.
Haile Gerima has a long and active history in the revival of African cinema and has collected numerous international awards for his work and dedication to filmmaking in Africa.
Azza El-Hosseiny, manager of ETISAL Fund, calls upon the Egyptian filmmakers Syndicate, the Carthage Film Festival and all parties to stand in solidarity with Haile Gerima in supporting this important cinematic experience.

يسرا تفتتح أسبوع  » سحر السينما الأفريقية « 
بسينما الهناجر – مركز الابداع
– يقيم مهرجان الأقصر للسينما الأفريقية أسبوع للسينما الأفريقية بعنوان  » سحر السينما الأفريقية  » مختارات من الدورات الأربعة السابقة للمهرجان في الفترة من 1 إلى 5 يونيو بسينما الهناجر ومركز الابداع وتبدأ العروض السادسة مساءاً ، وبالتوازي مع ملتقى القاهرة الدولي لتفاعل الثقافات الأفريقية حيث تعرض أهم الأفلام من دول (أثيوبية – الكونغو – رواندا – كينيا – مصر – تونس – أوغندا – المغرب – الجزائر – جنوب أفريقيا – ليبريا – بوركينا فاسو – النيجر) وجميع الأفلام مترجمة للغة العربية لأول مرة ، كما ستقام عروض خلال شهر يونيو بمكتبة الإسكندرية وتقام بعدها ندوات يديرها الناقد الكبير سمير فريد.
ويهدي سيد فؤاد رئيس المهرجان هذه المختارات من سحر السينما الأفريقية إلى المخرج الأثيوبي العالمي الكبير هايلي جريما تضامناً معه في أزمته نحو توفير باقي ميزانية فيلمه الجديد المتعثر نتيجة انسحاب صندوق ACP  » المدعوم من الاتحاد الأوروبي  » من دعم انتاج الفيلم لأسباب بيروقراطية ، بعد أن بذل جريما صاحب التاريخ الطويل والجوائز العالمية والذي ساهم بتميزه في تراث السينما الأفريقية والعالمية ، جهداً يزيد عن ثلاث سنوات لإنجاز فيلمه ، وتهيب المخرجة / عزه الحسيني مدير صندوق اتصال بالتضامن مع نقابة المهن السينمائية المصرية ومهرجان أيام قرطاج السينمائية  » JCC  » ، تهيب بجهات الدعم في مصر والعالم التدخل بالتعاون ومحاولة الدعم لإنقاذ هذه التجربة السينمائية الهامة
