Quand elles retournèrent chez elles, ces femmes furent battues et rejetées par leurs maris, puis ostracisées par la communauté. UMOJA: NO MEN ALLOWED (UMOJA: AUCUN HOMME N’EST TOLERE) raconte l’amusante et émouvante histoire d’un groupe de femmes du Nord Kenya qui s’oppose au patriarcat millénaire en créant un village réservé uniquement aux femmes.
