Juin 1994. Kigali, capitale du Rwanda, est livrée aux massacreurs des milices extrémistes hutu et de l’armée rwandaise. Lors de l’attaque d’une paroisse où sont retranchés une centaine de réfugiés, l’auteur, à l’époque reporter-caméraman, est atteint d’une balle à la hanche. Dix ans plus tard, il retourne sur les lieux pour retrouver la trace des éventuels survivants et de ses éphémères « compagnons de route ». A partir de ce fil conducteur, ce film propose une réflexion sur le traitement médiatique et politique de tels événements.

June 1994. Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, is given over to the butchers of the extremist Hutu militia and the Rwandan army. During an attack on a parish in which a hundred refugees have taken shelter, the author, at that time a reporter/cameraman, is shot in the hip. Ten years later, he returns to the scene in search of survivors and his ephemeral’fellow travelers’. With this journey as its thread, the film is a reflection upon the way such events are handled by the media and politicians.
