In an act of rebellious defiance, teenager Hana removes her headscarf in public and runs off with a boy she picks up in a shopping centre. Director Fyzal Boulifa’s bold film is an unflinching look at the extreme consequences that sometimes befall those who disobey their families. Boulifa’s latest short – « The Curse » – premiered as part of Cannes 2012 Director’s fortnight.
