J’ai toujours ignoré l’histoire de mon pays jusqu’au jour où j’ai vu mon grand-père pleurer devant des images de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il pleurait parce que son père avait été retenu en France alors qu’à Madagascar se préparait l’insurrection de 1947.
Aujourd’hui, c’est mon devoir de faire connaître l’histoire de mon pays en mémoire de mon grand-père et de tous les Malgaches qui ont versé leur sang pour la patrie.

I always ignored the history of my country until I saw my grandfather crying in front of pictures of the Second World War. He was crying because his father had been detained in France while the 1947 uprising was being prepared in Madagascar.
Today, it is my duty to share the history of my country in memory of my grandfather and all the Malagasy people who shed their blood for their country.
