ITTO, 22 ans, fraichement mariée, vit chez ses beaux parents avec son mari, le temps de sa grossesse. Alors que celle-ci arrive à terme, un événement surnaturel va bouleverser leur quotidien …

Itto, jeune femme issue d’un milieu modeste et rural, se retrouve propulsée dans la famille de classe moyenne supérieure de son mari, Amine. Alors qu’Amine et sa famille sont bloqués à plusieurs heures de route de leur domicile du fait d’un événement mystérieux, Itto, enceinte au dernier degré va devoir s’émanciper et partir à l’aventure pour réussir à les rejoindre dans un contexte d’État d’urgence au Maroc…

NOTE DE LA RÉALISATRICE
J’aime les récits tout en contraste : travailler une dimension poétique et cosmogonique tout en développant une mécanique extrêmement ancrée dans le concret, le matériel. J’ai envie de développer un cinéma hybride qui flirte entre documentaire et fiction, naturalisme et irréalité, grotesque et tragique, fantastique et drame familial et social. Dans un récit très ancré dans le réel, je veux que le surnaturel provoque un bouleversement dans la société que je dépeins. Je vois ce film comme un voyage universel qui mène à un but unitif. Même si j’emprunte aux codes du cinéma de science-fiction, j’ai envie que mon film soit avant tout mystique.

Director’s statement
I like stories that contain contrasts – working in a poetic and cosmogonic dimension while at the same time developing a mechanism that is firmly anchored in the concrete. I want to develop a hybrid cinema – one that flirts with documentary and fiction, naturalism and non-reality, the grotesque and the tragic, the fantastic, family and social drama. Among Us is a story that is very much rooted in reality, but I want the supernatural to cause an upheaval in the society that it portrays. I see this film as a universal journey that leads to union. Even though it borrows from the codes of science-fiction cinema, I want this film to be, above all, mystical.

كلمة المخرج

أحب الحكايات التي لا تخلو من تناقضات: العمل على بُعد شاعري وكوني في نفس الوقت مع تطوير آلية مترسخة جدا فيما هو ملموس، في المادة. أرغب في تطوير سينما هجينة تمزج بين الأسلوب الوثائقي والروائي، بين الواقعي والخرافي، بين الخيالي والتراجيدي، بين الخارج عن الطبيعة والدراما العائلية والاجتماعية. في حكاية متجذرة جدا في الواقع، أريد أن يكون حادث خارق سببا في وقوع اضطراب داخل المجتمع الذي أقوم بتصويره. بالنسبة لي، يعتبر هذا الفيلم رحلة كونية تؤدي إلى هدف موحد. ورغم أني أقتبس من رموز سينما الخيال العلمي، فأنا أريد أن يكون فيلمي روحيا قبل كل شيء
