Par l’entremise d’un trafiquant, un groupe d’immigrés illégaux tente de quitter la France sur un cargo à destination du Canada. Ils parviennent à se cacher dans un conteneur au fond d’une cale.

Deux hommes, deux femmes et deux enfants, étrangers les uns aux autres, sont confinés dans un espace de 25 mètres carrés. Au fil des jours, les tempéraments s’embrasent et les provisions se font rares.
À l’extérieur du conteneur, l’équipage est vigilant: aucun clandestin n’est toléré à bord. Soudain, en pleine mer, le moteur tombe en panne. À l’intérieur du conteneur, la tension vire à la violence. Affamés et assoiffés, les clandestins n’ont pas le choix: ils sont obligés de quitter le conteneur malgré l’omniprésence de l’équipage.

With the help of a smuggler, a group of illegal immigrants attempt to leave France on a cargo ship headed for Canada. They succeed in sneaking into a container which is deposited at the bottom of the ship’s hold.
Two men, two women and two children, strangers to one another at first, are confined to a space of 25 square meters. As the days drag out, tempers flare and provision begin to run out.
Outside the container, the crew is vigilant: no stowaways will be tolerated on board. Suddenly, in the middle of the ocean, engine failure brings the ship to a stop. Inside the container, tension turns to violance.
Without food or water, the stowaways have but one choice: to leave the con¬tainer, in spite of the crew’s watchfulness.
