Durant vingt-quatre heures, Genève devient le décor vivant d’un drame actuel : de jour, endroit où il fait bon vivre ; de nuit, refuge des exclus. Cinq personnages vont s’y rencontrer, reliés par la ronde de nuit d’un duo de flics. Hans, policier en fin de carrière et éprouvé par la vie s’essaie à la compassion tandis que Dan, son jeune coéquipier, se débat entre préjugés et découverte de l’autre.

Bakhti’s comedy-drama is a 24 hour tour de force in the lives of five characters, none of whom fit into Geneva’s postcard image as a city of privilege. Linked by two cops’ night patrol, the audience meets different faces of immigration and social exclusion: Adé, a young Malian who dreams of becoming a famous soccer star, but has to work illegally for now. Momo, who has abandoned his studies to become a garbage collector in order to support his relatives in Algeria, but cannot bring himself to tell them the truth about his new life. And then there is Claire, a young Swiss woman, lost and erring in the night. Claire has lost control of her life, annihilated by drugs. A harsh, yet not hopeless chronicle, where locals and foreigners’ encounters with each other may transform their destinies. A reflection of fragile human relationships in our troubling and troubled times.

Während 24 Stunden wird Genf zur lebenden Kulisse eines zeitnahen Dramas. Der Polizist Hans steht kurz vor seiner Pensionierung. Dan, sein junger Teamkollege, wird zwischen Vorurteilen und Entdeckung des Anderen hin- und hergerissen. Auf ihrer Patrouille durch die Stadt begegnen sie den vielen Gesichtern des gesellschaftlichen Ausgeschlossenseins. Der junge Malier Adé ist Schwarzarbeiter und träumt von einer Karriere als Fussballstar. Momo, ein ehemaliger Student, ist nach seinem Scheitern bei der Müllabfuhr tätig. Die junge, verlorene Claire steckt in einer Identitätskrise und greift zu Drogen. Eine Nacht, die alles zu Tage bringt, was jeder verstecken oder nicht wahrhaben wollte.
