Nisha et Steeve, deux jeunes d'origines et de milieux sociaux différents, fuient le toit parental pour vivre librement leur amour. Ils empruntent le bus express ("bisanvil" en créole mauricien) assurant la liaison entre Quatre-Bornes et Port-Louis. D'autres passagers font le voyage : Nani, une grand-mère d'origine indienne, et son petit fils de neuf ans, Roshan; Zougadere, joueur invétéré ; dont le seul objectif est d'arriver à temps à Port-Louis pour aller aux courses ; Piow, un vieillard borné qui, s'étant trompé de bus, veut à tout prix descendre au grand dam d'Idriss, le receveur, qui règne d'une main de fer sur son bus. Au cours de ce voyage épique, ce petit monde s'excite, entre en conflit et se réconcilie sous l'oeil amusé de Roshan. Une tranche de vie qui brosse un portrait coloré de la société mauricienne et de ses contradictions.

Nisha and Steeve, two young people of different races and social backgrounds, flee the parental roof to live their love freely. They take the express bus ("bisanvil", in Mauritian Creole) between Quatre Bornes and Port Louis. Other passengers make the trip: Nani, a grandmother of Indian origin, and her nine-year-old son, Roshan; Zougadere, an inveterate gambler, whose only objective is to arrive in Port Louis in time to go to the races; Piow, a stubborn old man who, having got on the wrong bus, wants to get off at all costs, to the great displeasure of Idriss, the conductor, who rules over his bus with an iron fist. During this epic journey, this little world gets excited, enters into conflict and reconciles under the amused eye of Roshan. A slice of life that paints a colorful portrait of Mauritian society and its contradictions.

Nisha y Steve, dos jóvenes de raza y extracto social diferentes huyen de sus hogares para amarse libremente. Suben al autobús rápido ("bisanvil" en criollo mauriciano) que une Quatre-Bornes con Port-Louis. Hay otros pasajeros en el vehículo: Nani, una abuela de origen indio y Roshdan, su nieto de nueve años; Zougadere, un jugador empedernido cuyo único objetivo es llegar a tiempo a Bisanvil para ir a las carreras; Piow, un anciano de pocas luces que se ha equivocado de autobús y está empeñado en bajar en Idriss; el cobrador que reina con mano de hierro. Durante este épico viaje todos se pelean y se reconcilian bajo la divertida mirada de Roshan. Un animado retrato de la sociedad mauriciana y de sus contradicciones.
