Jimmy se souvient des bancs de classe où son professeur de français lui parlait de Paris. Il finit après bien des efforts par y accéder. Là il rencontre l’âme soeur et quelque temps après il s’en sépare. Il s’adonne à la drogue, au braquage et à une vie qui débouche sur le Sida.
Selon la terminologie médicale, Jimmy est un « PVVIH », c’est-à-dire une « personne vivant avec le virus du VIH – Sida -« . Mais il est d’abord un homme qui, chaque jour, se bat contre la discrimination et la stigmatisation des malades. Il sensibilise les gens de son quartier, les incite à être davantage présents aux côtés des personnes atteintes. À travers le portrait de Jimmy, ce documentaire livre une radioscopie de la société tunisienne, de sa perception et de sa compréhension de la maladie, des moeurs sociales, et invite à dépasser certaines peurs – à commencer par celle de parler.

Jimmy remembers about his French teacher talking about Paris at school. He succeeded to go there after facing many difficulties. There, he found love and after, a split. Then, he will give hiself over to drug, split. Then, he will give hiself over to drug… with AIDS on his way.
According to medical terminology, Jimmy is a « PLWAIDS », a person living with the AIDS virus. But he is first a man who, every day, fights against discrimination and the stigma of being ill. He educates the people in his neighborhood, and urges them to spend more time with those who are sick. Through this portrait of Jimy, this documentary gives us a close look at Tunisian society, its perception and understanding of this disease and social standards, and invites us to break certain taboos – to begin with the one of talking openly about it.
