The First Arabic Gay Feature
All My Life

The first Egyptian gay film, made in secret and has been banned in Egypt as well as several other African and Arabic countries.

For Rami, all is for the best in this best of all possible worlds, as long as he keeps to himself. But when his longtime lover leaves him to marry a woman and his best friends drift away, he comes face to face with the harsh realities of life as a gay man in Egypt. Against the backdrop of the choreographed crackdown on gay men and the notorious Queen Boat arrests of 2001, he plunges into a world of loveless friendships and spirals downwards to his ultimate downfall.

Statement of the Director
« We all build fences around ourselves to protect ourselves from pain; that’s why it’s easy, when we see others treated unjustly, to assume that they must have done something to deserve punishment. It’s especially easy if they believe differently from us or live a lifestyle we don’t approve of. Then it comes round to us, and others say the same.. and so on until we all know what it feels like to be oppressed. »
