Exhibition project and catalogue on artists, AIDS and Africa

The New Society for the Visual Arts in Berlin is currently preparing an
exhibition project with the tentative title Africa apart – on the
cultural and social dimensions of AIDS in Africa ».
The New Society for the Visual Arts (Neue Gesellschaft fuer Bildende Kunst,
NGBK)
is a non profit organisation with a long and established tradition of
exhibiting
contemporary art.
The project is to take place in Berlin in December 2002. We are currently
looking for artists, which have been working in contexts relating to the
theme of the exhibition project.
For a Berlin public we will try to show interrelations between social
conditions in Africa, artistic reflection and political struggle.
Also documentary material can be incorporated in the exhibtion to form a
context and to show the historic development of the fight against AIDS,
inequality and exploitation.

We strongly welcome any suggestions and information regarding the upcoming
exhibition.
Thank you very much for your attention and help.

on behalf of the exhibition team
