Baba Touré nait le 18 février 1976 à Abidjan en Côte d’Ivoire.
1992
A 16 ans, il participe avec son groupe Ujenlac au grand concours national organisé sous la tutelle du Ministère de la Culture. Il remporte la finale avec l’interprétation de Simpa, un rythme Aoussa du Ghana. Une cassette cinq titres est enregistrée aux studios Touré Sound à Yopougon.
1993
Baba Touré est recruté par Salif Coulibaly directeur du Djolem, structure de diffusion du quartier et surtout une célèbre troupe d’Abidjan, l’une des meilleurs de Côte d’Ivoire. Ils partent pour une tournée de neuf mois à travers l’Afrique de l’Ouest s’arrêtant à chaque village comme de véritables artistes nomades. Ce fut pour Baba Touré un réel espace d’enrichissement et de formation.
1994
II devient chef percussionniste. Il enchaîne de nombreuses tournées en Europe et en Afrique.
1998
Baba Touré vient s’installer en France grâce à un premier contrat de travail pour devenir professeur de percussions à Rennes.
1999
C’est l’année de création du groupe Attoungblan du nom des tambours parleurs joués lors des cérémonies sacrées. Il offre un style musical traditionnel.
2000
Il intègre l’équipe de formateurs de l’école Tam Tam Mandingue à Bruxelles dirigé par Mamady Keïta, maître guinéen de percussion.
2002
Baba Touré enregistre Daakan (FontiMusicali/Dom) son premier album à Abidjan en invitant 28 artistes de toute l’Afrique de l’Ouest. Il fait appel pour les arrangements à Gilbert Sidimady Diabaté de Guinée. Il s’entoure de Sékouba Traoré percussionniste malien et Moussa Condé artiste guinéen.
2003
Baba Touré est programmé avec son groupe Attoungblan aux 25e Rencontres Transmusicales de Rennes.
2004
Tournée française en première partie de Mamady Keïta & Sewa Kan, Master Of Percussions Tour.
2005
Il est repéré par Didier Granet qui le programme aux 22e Francophonies en Limousin.
2007
Baba Touré se produit aux côtés de Seckou Keïta à Lyon avec la section cordes de l’Orchestre Symphonique Lyonnais dirigé par Philippe Fournier dans une création 1000 djembés pour un soir en collaboration avec Doug Manuel directeur de Séwa Beats à Genève.
2008
Baba Touré enchaîne deux créations :
– création Afro-Breizh avec le bagad de Cesson Sévigné(35) dirigé par Bob Guernigou pour un spectacle afro breizh
– création musicale « Apollo » de style fusion afro beat et musique traditionnelle : » Comme dans les quartiers populaires d’Abidjan, les artistes se retrouvent dans la rue comme pour une jam session où les chanteuses redoublent de virtuosité. Pour Baba, c’est un nouveau son qu’il propose pour les publics du festival Complet’ Mandingue à Saint-Brieuc. Baba Touré invite Hadja Kouyaté célèbre griotte d’origine guinéenne. « Depuis l’année 2000, Baba Touré animent chaque année des stages internationaux en Europe (Bruxelles, Poitiers, Barcelone, Amsterdam, Toulouse?).

Baba Touré went two creations: creating Afro-Breizh with bagad Cesson Sévigné (35) directed by Bob Guernigou for a show Afro breizh / music fusion Apollo afro beat and traditional music. As in the popular districts of Abidjan, the artists are on the streets like a jam session where the singers repeat virtuosity. For Baba, a new sound he proposes for public festival Complet’Mandingue in Saint-Brieuc. Baba Touré invited Hadja Kouyaté famous cherry Guinean origin.
Since 2000, Baba Touré drive each year internships in Europe (Brussels, Poitiers, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Toulouse…).
