Le Musicien Voyageur
Modou traverse les frontières,
avec un instrument pour passeport : le Hang.
Cet instrument ovni, avec lequel on ne peut voyager longtemps incognito, est une folie sortie de l’imagination de Félix. Dans son atelier, perdu dans la paisible campagne bernoise, Modou et lui, explorent et développent les possibilités de l’instrument, s’ingénient à l’apprivoiser, « cherchent à lui faire cracher le morceau ».
C’est dans un Paris noctambule, au Mozaïk café, que Modou essaye ces nouvelles tonalités lors de concerts improvisés au grès des rencontres. Dans ces jazz band éphémères, langues, instruments et genres tentent de mélanger leur singularité, d’élargir l’horizon, au moins jusqu’au Caire. Là, pendant le festival des Nuits du Ramadan, de célèbres musiciens, orientaux et internationaux, invitent Modou et son bien énigmatique instrument, à partager la scène.
Vient alors le temps de la retraite, du retour sur soi et Modou prend le chemin du mont Sinaï, une histoire entre Allah et lui. Au levé du soleil, il Lui joue une musique, qui s’est nourrie d’une année d’échanges et de rencontres.
Pendant ce temps, en Suisse, Félix élabore de nouveaux prototypes de Hang. Il enflamme le gaz de son chalumeau, et embrase la coque d’un nouveau vaisseau. Il le montrera à Modou lorsque celui ci reviendra à l’improviste, mais toujours attendu.

The Travelling Musician
Modou crosses the borders with an instrument for passport : the Hang.
