Momoko Seto

Née en 1980 à Tokyo [Japon], Momoko Seto est scolarisée à l’école française de Tokyo. À l’âge de 19 ans, elle vient en France suivre des études à l’École supérieure des beaux-arts de Marseille, où elle obtient son Master en Art [DNSEP] en 2006. Au cours de ses études supérieures, elle obtient une bourse d’étude au California College of the Arts de San Francisco/Oakland [Etats-Unis], où elle réalisera ses premiers courts-métrages.
Par la suite, entre 2006 et 2008, elle réside à la prestigieuse école du Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains.
Actuellement, elle travaille au Réseau Asie [unité du CNRS] en tant que réalisatrice de films documentaires.
Momoko Seto a réalisé de nombreux courts-métrages et documentaires qui ont été présentés et récompensés dans plusieurs festivals internationaux.

Momoko Seto is born in 1980 in Tokyo, Japan and studied at the French school of Tokyo. She then went on to study at the Fine Arts College of Marseille, France where she obtained her Master’s degree in 2006. In 2004, she was selected as an international exchange student at the California College of the Arts of San Francisco/Oakland, USA where she learnt filmmaking.
She was then admitted as an artist-in-residence at the prestigious Fresnoy National Studio of Contemporary Arts. She now works as a film-maker for the CNRS (National Scientific Reseach Center, Asia Network) in Paris. Momoko Seto has made several films which have been selected and shown at over eighty international festivals and artistic events, some of which have received international prizes.

瀬戸桃子
東京出身。１９８０年生まれ。
東京のフランス学校、リセ・フランコジャポネで小中高卒。１９歳で渡仏。
フランスマルセイユの国立美術大学で映像科の修士課程終了。国際招待学生として、サンフランシスコ・オークランドのカリフォルニア・カレッジ・オブ・アーツに留学。
仏国の奨学金を得て、フレノワ国立近代アートスタジオへ２年在学。
その際に作った短編映画「パリ・プラージュ」と「プラネットA」はロッテルダム映画祭、ロカルノ映画祭、パリイメージフォーラム、ドイツキャッセルドキュメンタリー映画祭、を初め世界の１００以上の映画祭やアートフェアーで上映。
「プラネットA」はフィンランドタンペレ映画祭で特別賞受賞、ノルウェー、オスロのビデオスクリーンフェスティバルでグランプリを受賞し、フランスのテレビ「アルテ」、またNHKの「デジスタ」でも全国放送された。
現在、パリのフランス国立科学研究センターでドキュメンタリー映画監督の仕事をしつつアート活動を続ける。
