Kerry was first introduced to the world of art via an intense love of comic books. He constantly drew the various characters such as « Spider Man », « Daredevil », »X-men », « Hulk » and the like. Constant drawing led to an improvement in his skill, which prompted his father to purchase his first oil painting set in December 1974. This introduction to oils was love at first sight. He liked the texture and effect that oils possessed so much that he began painting excessively thereafter, copying various paintings which he saw in art books. He also did a lot of original still life and portraits, which tend to be a personal favourite.
