Marcia Griffiths

Marcia Griffiths (née Marcia Llyneth Griffiths, 23 novembre 1949 à Kingston en Jamaïque) surnommé la « Reine du Reggae », est une chanteuse de reggae mondialement célèbre.

Elle commence sa carrière en 1964. Entre 1970 et 1974 elle forme le duo Bob & Marcia avec Bob Andy, sur le label Harry J. De 1974 à 1981 elle est membre des I-Threes, un groupe de choristes qui accompagnait Bob Marley & The Wailers. À la fin des années 1990, elle réintègre parfois le groupe pour les nombreuses tournées qu’il effectue dans le monde entier, et chante plusieurs titres en solo lors de ces concerts.

Sa chanson Electric Boogie (écrite par Bunny Wailer) est à ce jour la plus grande vente d’une artiste féminine de reggae. (Source: Wikipédia)
