Hans-Jürgen Pohland (aussi connu sous le nom de Jason Pohland) est né le 04 Décembre, à Berlin, Allemagne. Il meurt le 17 mai 2014, suite à un malaise au sortir d’une baignade en mer, à Mandelieu-La-Napoule (Alpes-Maritimes, France), en marge du Festival de Cannes auquel il participait.
Il avait 79 ans. Réalisateur de courts et longs métrages, il a produit plusieurs films dont « Things Fall Apart » (1971, Nigeria, coproduit par Francis Oladele).
