Youcef Bouchouchi

Youcef Bouchouchi (يوسف بوشوشي), né le 25 novembre 1939 à Kherrata (wilaya de Béjaïa) en Algérie, est un réalisateur, scénariste, producteur algérien.



Il a fait ses études primaires à El Kseur de Béjaïa, puis rejoint le lycée technique d’Alger jusqu’en 1956, avant de rallier, pendant la guerre d'indépendance algérienne, l’organisation civile du Front de libération national au sein duquel il militera jusqu’en 1962. A l’indépendance, il travaillera comme caméraman puis reporter pour la RadioTélévision Algériennes (RTA). Youcef Bouchouchi s’est intéressera au théâtre, à l’écriture de scénario mais particulièrement à la réalisation cinématographique.



En 1963, il débute son parcours avec son film pour la (RTA) Les hauteurs de la Révolution, El Hidjra, et Salima et Salim. Puis une séries de films au cours des années suivantes dont : Présent Et Absent sur un texte de Kateb Yacine, L’industrie De La Dette, Le Grand Tourisme, Labour Des Terrains Déminés, Les Grand Projets d’Arzew. Il réalise au début des années 1970 l'émission Télé Ciné Club, présentée par Ahmed Bedjaoui. En 1971, il produit Pas De Blanc À La Une, Les Retrouvailles et un film policier Al 17, puis Qui est le coupable ?. Plus tard il réalisera El Moulid En-Nabawi, Coutumes Et Traditions, Ould El Houma, Le Grand Sud et la série comique et sociale de Fantazia. En l’an 2000 il produit La Voisine avec Biyouna. Puis en collaboration avec Ali Boukessanni, il a fait une série de documentaires sur les ravins de Mostaganem. En l’an 2001 il produit Les Dérives De La Justice de Leïla Aloui, en 2005 il réalise Qui Va Vous Protéger ?. Il a réalisé également le film Le Prix De La Liberté pour le festival d’Alger capitale de la Culture Arabe.



Youcef Bouchouchi a reçu une médaille du président de la République Abdelaziz Bouteflika, en 2003 à Oran. Il décéde le 28 juillet 2017 des suites d'une longue maladie, il est inhumé au cimetière de Sidi Yahia à Alger.

At independence, he worked as a cameraman then a reporter for Algerian RadioTelevision (RTA). Youcef Bouchouchi is interested in theater, screenwriting but particularly in filmmaking.

In 1963, he began his career with his film for the (RTA) The Heights of the Revolution, El Hidjra, and Salima and Salim. Then a series of films over the following years including: Present and Absent on a text by Kateb Yacine, The Debt Industry, Grand Tourism, Labor of Cleared Land, Les Grand Projets d'Arzew. In the early 1970s, he produced the Télé Ciné Club program, presented by Ahmed Bedjaoui. In 1971, he produced Pas De Blanc À La Une, Les Retrouvailles and a detective film Al 17, then Who is the culprit?. Later he would direct El Moulid En-Nabawi, Coutumes Et Traditions, Ould El Houma, Le Grand Sud and the comic and social series Fantazia. In 2000 he produced La Voisine with Biyouna. Then in collaboration with Ali Boukessanni, he made a series of documentaries on the ravines of Mostaganem. In 2001 he produced Les Dérives De La Justice by Leïla Aloui, in 2005 he directed Who Will You Protect?. He also directed the film Le Prix De La Liberté for the Algiers Capital of Arab Culture festival.

Youcef Bouchouchi received a medal from the President of the Republic Abdelaziz Bouteflika in 2003 in Oran. He died on July 28, 2017 following a long illness, he was buried in the Sidi Yahia cemetery in Algiers.
