Mark Sealy est critique d’art et commissaire d’expositions. Il est directeur d’Autograph depuis 1991 et, depuis 2007, est PDG de l’espace culturel Rivington Place conjointement aux administrateurs d’inIVA.
Il a été le coordinateur photographique d’Africa’ 95 et fut membre du jury du Prix World Press Photo en 1996 et 2005. Il est consultant en photographie et est un des conseillers du Prix Média d’Amnesty International. En octobre 2007, il a été honoré de la Hood Medal par la Royal Photographic Society.

Mark Sealy became Director of Autograph, the Association of Black Photographers in 1991, and has since curated and initiated several major international photography exhibitions. These include an audiovisual programme for Recontres dArles in 1992 and retrospectives on the photographic works of Gordon Parks and James Van Der Zee in London.

In his role at Autograph he has initiated the production of over 30 publications including books on the works of Vanley Burke and Rotimi Fani-Kayode, and produced many exhibitions, commission and residency projects.

Along with his role at Autograph he acts as an independent photographic consultant. In 1998 he co-curated Revealing Views: Images on Ireland at the Royal Festival Hall, London. Recently, he has completed a new book project with Phaidon Press entitled Different on photography and identity, with Professor Stuart Hall.
