ABOUT
White Pine Pictures is an internationally respected producer of award-winning documentary and dramatic programming for the world’s leading broadcasters and distributors.

White Pine Pictures is an independent, Canadian film and television production company based in Toronto. For 31 years White Pine Pictures has engaged audiences worldwide with compelling, relevant stories in both documentary and dramatic form. Under the leadership of Peter Raymont, our film, television, and interactive productions have earned over 40 international awards, including Genies and Geminis, several Gold and Silver Hugos and The Sesterce d’Argent. We have become trusted and regular suppliers of documentary programs to all Canadian broadcasters, and internationally to BBC and Channel 4 (UK), PBS-ITVS and Nat Geo (U.S.), France 2, ZDF-ARTE, SVT, ABC and SBS (Australia) among many others.

White Pine’s breakout documentary « Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Romeo Dallaire » received the Audience Award for World Cinema Documentaries at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, and the 2007 Emmy Award for Best Documentary. This influential feature film has had a profound impact on audiences around the world.

In 2007, White Pine Pictures extended its documentary pedigree into the world of drama, producing three seasons of « The Border », an audience winner for CBC Television, now seen in 25 countries and versioned into 11 languages. The Border was created by Peter Raymont and Lindalee Tracey from their many years of frontline research and their production of « The Undefended Border », a documentary series featuring unprecedented access to the behind-the-scenes action of immigration and security policing.

White Pine Pictures’ success as a respected production company is built on a commitment to creating enlightened entertainment, engaging audiences across genres and platforms with stories that matter. We take pride in working with the best Canadian talent and industry players who embrace the depth of content and high production values that define us.
