Expropriés en 1974, Grand-père Loriesfontein et sa famille se sont exilés dans le désert de Namibie. Vingt-et-un ans après, ils reviennent à pied vers Riemvasmaak, leur village d’Afrique du Sud. Les yeux pleins de tristesse et de nostalgie, mais aussi d’espoir, Grand-père et les siens, comme tous les Sud-Africains, tentent de guérir les blessures laissées par l’apartheid.
