Deniz Gamze ERGÜVEN est née le 04/06/1978, à Ankara (Turquie). Elle a grandi en France et elle est diplômée de la FEMIS (Paris) où elle a réalisé le court métrage BIR DAMLA SU (UNE GOUTTE D’EAU) sélectionné au festival de cannes 2006 (Cinéfondation).
Elle a réalisé les courts métrages Mon trajet préféré (2006) et A Drop of Water / UNE GOUTTE D’EAU (2006), ainsi que le long métrage Mustang (15), projeté au Festival de Toronto. Kings (2017) is her latest film.
