From Senegal To The World: 80s Classics & Rarities album by Youssou N’Dour was released Oct 02, 2012 on the Nascente label.

Youssou N’Dour is one of the most celebrated African musicians in history. His mix of traditional Senegalese mbalax with eclectic influences ranging from Cuban rumba to hip hop, jazz and soul has won him an international fan base of millions.

‘From Senegal to the World’ covers the 1980s – the decade when Youssou broke through into the mainstream. CD1 features the prime of his early 80s recording made in Senegal whilst CD2 collects together the material he recorded for Virgin records and that helped turn him into a world music icon.
