The Aluta Film Festival is South Africa’s premier township cinema event held each year in Kimberley’s vibrant township: Galeshewe.
The seventh annual Aluta Film Festival will be a seven day cinema event held at venues around Kimberley, South Africa on the 22nd till 28th February 2010.
Over the years the film festival has enjoyed much acclaim for its uniqueness in its programming and its vibrant township setting. An important aspect of the Aluta Film Festival is to be a repository for the stories of people of African ancestry worldwide as well as stories from the developing world.
Through this festival, our desire has been to open the eyes of audiences to a discourse not commonly seen at South African HOLLYWOOD INFESTED cinemas or on our television screens.
