The Youth Drama Festival aims to encourage drama and scriptwriting throughout Namibia. Schools and community groups travel to Windhoek to compete.
The plays are generally written by the acting groups and address contemporary issues such as street children, unemployment, AIDS and teenage pregnancy.
They give you an insight into the problems and issues of everyday life in Namibia - issues that are not always apparent to tourists as they move on from one attraction to another.
