Au Bangladesh, 49 millions de personnes sont contaminées par l’arsenic contenu dans l’eau qu’elles consomment quotidiennement. Mal informés, abandonnés, rejetés, les gens meurent dans leurs villages dans l’indifférence générale. Face à cette catastrophe
humanitaire, les réactions nationales et internationales s’avèrent désespérément inefficaces, freinées par la bureaucratie, la corruption, le manque de compétences et de professionnalisme.
A travers les témoignages d’Asma et Najma, deux jeunes filles contaminées, et de Jamal, un scientifique luttant contre ce fléau, « L’eau du Diable » souhaite contribuer à informer les populations et à préserver l’avenir de notre pays à tous, la Terre. Car d’autres régions pourraient être menacées à leur tour par le même problème.

In Bangladesh, 49 million people are currently contaminated by arsenic contained in the water they consume daily. Not properly informed, abandoned and rejected, these people die in their villages in a total lack of concern.

In front of this humanitarian catastrophe, national and international answers are still desperately inefficient, and are slowed down by bureaucracy, corruption and the lack of competence and professionalism.

Through the personal accounts of Asma and Najma, two young contaminated girls, and Jamal, a scientist fighting against the contamination, this film hopes to contribute to the information being sent to these populations and the preservation of the future of our country, the Earth. For other areas could be threatened by the same problem in the future.

Today Western Bengali researchers are working in association with different laboratories in the world, and try to find a treatment able to put an end to this plague. An homeopathic medicine seems to be on the right track. A new pace is coming up, new actions are emerging. In Bangladesh, hope is back…
