Se confrontant constamment au danger de la violence, du viol, aux enlèvements, trafic d’êtres humains et à la mort, les enfants des rues de Durban ont peu d’espoir et généralement se réfugient dans la drogue et le vol. Le réalisateur, Billy Raftery, a franchi la ligne invisible qui sépare leur monde du reste de la ville en passant huit ans pour mettre l’accent sur deux d’entre ces enfants, Zulieka et Ariel. En étant témoin de toute leur adolescence, ce portrait intime dépeint le combat contre non seulement les dangers de la rue, mais aussi les fantômes du passé qui les ont conduits là où ils sont.

Director Billy Raftery steps over the imaginary line that divides their world from the rest of the city’s, by spending eight years focusing on two of these children, Zulieka and Ariel. Having witnessed their entire adolescence, this intimate portrait depicts a fight for survival against not only the dangers of the street, but also the haunting memories of the past that led them there in the first place.
