To keep the promise she made to her dying mother, a young woman sets off to find her father, a fickle man she has never known. Um ein Versprechen zu halten, das sie ihrer Mutter auf dem Sterbebett gegeben hat, macht sich eine junge Frau auf die Suche nach ihrem Vater, einem wankelmütigen Mann, den sie nie kennengelernt hat. Auf dem Weg zu ihm zeichnet sich ab, dass er bereits tot ist. Doch in Bann gezogen von den Maloya-Rhythmen – der rituellen Musik der Insel La Réunion -, lässt sie sich nicht von ihrem Ziel abbringen: Sie muss ihren Vater wiederfinden.
