Infirmier de profession, Ezamot est admis à faire valoir ses droits à la retraite, une retraite qu’il n’a pas préparée. Obligé de se replier au village avec toute sa famille en attendant sa pension de retraité, il est recueilli par son frère cadet, Ngassa. Dans la maison de ce dernier, la promiscuité entre Magrita, l’épouse d’Ezamot et celle de Ngassa, ne tardera pas à créer des brouilles entre elles. Quand arrive sa pension, Ezamot se laissera rattraper par son péché mignon : la vie de débauche, constituée de jeux de hasard et de jouissance avec des filles de joie. En fin de compte, encouragé par son frère Ngassa et la compréhension de son épouse, Ezamot va se résoudre à travailler la terre, le fonds qui manque le moins.

A nurse by profession, Ezamot is admitted to retirement, a retirement he did not prepare for. Forced to withdraw to the village with all his family while waiting for his pension, he is taken in by his younger brother, Ngassa. In Ngassa’s house, the promiscuity between Magrita, Ezamot’s wife, and Ngassa’s wife soon leads to a falling out between them. When his pension arrives, Ezamot is caught up in his favourite sin: a life of debauchery, consisting of games of chance and enjoyment with girls of joy. In the end, encouraged by his brother Ngassa and the understanding of his wife, Ezamot will resolve to work the land, the fund that is least lacking.
