Dans un village perdu au coeur de la savane, le fils du chef du village demande en mariage Saïkati, une jeune et jolie Masaï. Saïkati voit s'évanouir son rêve d'avoir de l'instruction et son indépendance. Elle n'a qu'une solution s'enfuir en ville, où sa cousine, Monique, lui promet un emploi. Mais Saïkati comprend qu'il s'agit de prostitution. Elle refuse, termine ses études et revient au village pour affronter la situation.

In a remote village in the middle of the savannah, the son of the village chief proposes to Saikati, a young and beautiful Masai woman. Saikati's dreams of education and independence fade away - unless she runs away from the village to go to the city where her cousin, Monique, promises her a job. Saikati quickly understands she means being a prostitute. She refuses, finishes her studies and goes back to the village to face the reality of her situation.
