Tout au long de son histoire, le cinéma s’est demandé comment filmer l’Autre. BOROM TAXI apporte une réponse concise et sensible à cette question : ce premier film nous plonge dans un état d’incertitude et de désorientation sans doute similaire à celui vécu par les personnages, qui ont quitté le Sénégal pour Buenos Aires (en Argentine).

Mountakha is a Senegalese migrant and a newcomer in Buenos Aires. In Dakar he used to work as a truck driver and he tries to get that job in this new city as well. While working as a street vendor in the meantime, he wonders if his destiny might be related to acting. Some of his new friends have a special bond with cinema.

Throughout its history, cinema has repeatedly asked the question « how does one film the Other ». In BOROM TAXI, the answer is sensitive and sharp: this debut film manages to bring us close to a state of uncertainty and disorientation, probably similar to that experienced by the characters, who have moved from Senegal to Buenos Aires.

Mountakha es un inmigrante senegalés recién llegado a Buenos Aires. En Dakar era camionero. Mientras intenta conseguir ese empleo en esta nueva ciudad, realiza algunos trabajos temporarios. Mountakha se pregunta si podrá ser un buen vendedor, o si su destino estará ligado la actuación. Algunos de sus nuevos amigos tienen un vínculo particular con el cine.
