Il y a 16 ans, Natasha se convertissait à l’islam. Trois ans plus tard, suite à la naissance de sa fille Amina, elle décidait de porter le voile. Aujourd’hui, c’est au tour d’Amina. Elle a l’âge traditionnel pour le mettre, seulement elle doute… Pour l’aider à choisir, Natasha décide d’aller à la rencontre de femmes musulmanes aux croyances divergentes. Mais au fil de ses rencontres, ses croyances et ses choix sont mis à l’épreuve. Jusqu’où est-elle prête à aller pour conserver son identité?

Documentaire introspectif sur fond d’enquête sociale autour de la question du voile, JE PORTE LE VOILE est la quête religieuse et identitaire d’une femme musulmane occidentale.

16 years ago Natasha converted to Islam. Three years later, following the birth of her daughter Amina, she decided to start wearing the Hijab. Today at thirteen, it is Amina’s turn to wear it but she has doubts… Natasha and her daughter set out on a quest to find out more about the tradition and its meaning, meetings Muslim women from different backgrounds. As they progress, Natasha’s perception of her religion is shaken in ways she had never anticipated.

I WEAR THE VEIL is a moving introspective documentary, a mother’s quest for her own identity and religion as an occidental Muslim woman.
