MK ; l’armée secrète de Mandela, éclaire un aspect peu connu de la lutte de libération de l’Afrique du Sud du joug de l’apartheid et montre une part essentiel de l’histoire de l’Afrique dans sa lutte contre la domination coloniale. Le film retrace à travers les parcours des anciens membres d’uMkhonto weSizwe (MK en abrégé), l’histoire de la branche militaire de l’ANC fondée par Nelson Mandela ; le père de la nation sud-africaine, dont l’Histoire internationale occidentale tend à occulter qu’il fut condamné à la prison à perpétuité pour avoir fondé et dirigé MK ; et qu’avant de devenir un vieux sage pacifiste, il était un révolutionnaire à la tête d’une armée de guérilla… Ce film est également un hommage rendu aux « unsung heroes », ces combattants et combattantes de la dernière lutte d’indépendance du vingtième siècle qui portaient l’idéal de liberté si haut, qu’ils n’hésitaient pas à sacrifier leur vie pour libérer leur pays de l’oppression de la minorité blanche.

MK; Mandela’s Secret Army, sheds light on a little-known aspect of South Africa’s liberation struggle from the yoke of apartheid and shows an essential part of Africa’s history in its struggle against colonial rule. The film traces the history of the military wing of the ANC founded by Nelson Mandela, the father of the South African nation, whose international history tends to hide the fact that he was sentenced to life imprisonment for founding and leading MK, and that before becoming a wise old pacifist, he was a revolutionary leading a guerrilla army… This film is also a tribute to the « unsung heroes », the men and women fighters of the last independence struggle of the twentieth century who held the ideal of freedom so high that they did not hesitate to sacrifice their lives to free their country from the oppression of the white minority.
