LA MAISON DES OMBRES est un documentaire utilisant la grammaire des films d’horreur, comme outil de déconstruction esthétique et politique du traumatisme colonial.
À Laghouat, au sud de l’Algérie, en 1852, les français ont tué les 2/3 des habitants avant de les enterrer dans des fosses communes.
Dans cette ville déserte au milieu de nulle part, gravitent nos quatre personnages, tourmentés par les fantômes de ce passé colonial violent qui hantent les lieux, et terrorisés par la peur de l’effondrement.
Peuvent-ils se libérer des ténèbres de l’histoire ?

THE HOUSE OF SHADOWS, is a documentary using the grammar of horror films, as a tool for the aesthetic and political deconstruction of colonial trauma.
In Laghouat, in the south of Algeria, in 1852, the French killed 2/3 of the inhabitants before burying them in mass graves.
In this deserted city in the middle of nowhere, gravitate the director and three characters tormented by this place haunted by the ghosts of French colonization, and terrified by the fear of collapse.
Can they liberate themselves from the shadows of history?
