L’architecte André Ravéreau a passé une grande partie de sa vie en Algérie, il est aujourd’hui une référence incontournable pour les bâtisseurs algériens de plusieurs générations. Sa fille Maya, architecte elle même, nous accompagne sur les lieux de ses créations et de ses recherches, Au Mzab d’abord là où il a vécu, créé, formé d’autres architectes dans "l’atelier du désert" et fait classer les oasis du Mzab au patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco.



S’inspirant de la tradition pour mieux innover comme dans la construction de la poste de Ghardaïa, ou dans celle d’une très surprenante villa… Puis à Alger où il a travaillé à la préservation du patrimoine ancestral de la Casbah, en décrivant fidèlement les principes de sa construction en phase avec des préoccupations actuelles, telles le choix de matériaux respectueux de l’environnement et évitant le gaspillage d’énergie, ce dont témoigne l’architecte Yasmine Terki, grande spécialiste des matériaux en terre.
