Dans le quartier des ministères à Yaoundé, un jeune homme vend des cassettes, des journaux, des vieilles revues sportives et de petits objets rares concernant le football. On l’a surnommé Mister Foot. Tous les jours à la même heure, il diffuse dans son magnétophone une cassette de reportage de retransmission d’un ancien match de football de l’équipe nationale du Cameroun. Petit à petit, c’est l’attroupement autour de son stand et même dans les bureaux, les fonctionnaires se mettent aux fenêtres pour revivre ces moments merveilleux du football camerounais.

Grâce à sa popularité, Mister Foot viendra en aide à un jeune homme qui aura passé sa journée à le suivre. Occasion de nous plonger dans l’univers trouble et complexe du football camerounais quelques mois après l’étonnant parcours des Lions Indomptables (Equipe nationale du Cameroun) lors du Mondiale 90 en Italie.

Concerning politics and soccer.

Outside a ministry building in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon, a young man sells audio tapes, magazines, old sports newspapers and football souvenirs. He’s known as « Mister Foot ».
Everyday at the same time, he plays a tape of an old football match of the Cameroonian national team. People crowd around the stand and civil servants lean out of their office windows to listen-all reminiscing the glory days of Cameroonian football.

One day Mister Foot helps a young man who has been following him. And so he’s introduced to the blurry and complex world of Cameroonian football, a few months after the country’s astonishing performance at the 1990 World Cup Tournament in Italy.
