L’aéroport de Jérusalem, occupé par l’armée israélienne depuis 1967, se situe à cinq kilomètres de Ramallah et dix de Jérusalem. Aujourd’hui, à l’Est de la piste, un important point de contrôle militaire bloque la route qui relie Jérusalem à Ramallah, devenue une impasse. Nahed Awwad découvre qu’il fut un temps où les avions de ligne fréquentaient cet aéroport devenu aujourd’hui un endroit sinistre. C’était au cours des années 50 et 60, lorsque les palestiniens pouvaient voyager librement. Images heureuses et témoignages du passé contrastent amèrement avec un présent où dominent les barbelés.

SYNOPSIS
Jerusalem’s airport, occupied by the Israeli army since 1967, is five km from Ramallah and 10 km from Jerusalem. Today, to the east of the runway, a military checkpoint blocks the road that links Jerusalem and Ramallah, creating a dead end. Nahed Awwad discovers that what was previously frequented by commercial airliners has since become a sinister place. It was during the 50s and 60s that Palestinians could travel freely. Happy images and testimonies from the past bitterly contrast with a present dominated by barbed wire.
