À Jacmel, en Haïti, l'ouverture d'une église évangélique juste en face d'un bordel déclenche une guerre de moralité dans le quartier. Au cœur de cette confrontation, Marie Madeleine, prostituée qui tente de survivre et de préserver sa dignité, se lie d'amitié avec Joseph, le fils du pasteur, contraint de cacher son homosexualité. Entre les injonctions religieuses, la violence patriarcale et la stigmatisation sociale, tous deux cherchent un espace secret où ils peuvent exister tels qu'ils sont, loin des regards, et réinventer leurs propres règles du jeu.

In Jacmel, Haiti, the opening of an evangelical church right across from a brothel triggers a war of morality in the neighborhood. At the heart of this conflict stands Marie Madeleine, a sex worker struggling to survive and preserve her dignity, who unexpectedly befriends Joseph, the pastor's son forced to hide his homosexuality. Caught between religious injunctions, patriarchal violence and social stigma, the two of them carve out a secret space where they can exist as they are, away from prying eyes, and slowly invent their own rules of the game.

Em Jacmel, no Haiti, a abertura de uma igreja evangélica em frente a um bordel desencadeia uma guerra de moralidade no bairro. No centro desse conflito está Marie Madeleine, uma trabalhadora sexual que luta para sobreviver e preservar a própria dignidade, e que acaba fazendo amizade com Joseph, o filho do pastor, obrigado a esconder a sua homossexualidade. Entre imposições religiosas, violência patriarcal e estigmatização social, os dois criam um espaço secreto onde podem existir como são, longe dos olhares dos outros, e inventam pouco a pouco as suas próprias regras do jogo.
