Le Cœur des Roches est un livre de récit d'exploration de l'auteur, plongeur et explorateur algérien Emir Berkane, paru le 13 septembre 2026 aux Éditions Gap, à l'occasion de la journée mondiale des grottes et karts de l' UNESCO.
À travers cet ouvrage personnel, l'auteur poursuit sa mission de sensibilisation à la biodiversité selon son triptyque fondateur : explorer, partager et protéger. Ce livre invite le lecteur à découvrir les secrets du monde souterrain et montagnard en mêlant l'escalade, la plongée et la spéléologie. En mettant en lumière la richesse géologique des territoires et notamment les reliefs méconnus de l'Algérie, Emir Berkane cherche à transmettre ses découvertes au grand public, sa sensibilité aux écosystèmes fragiles, convaincu que l'on ne peut protéger efficacement que ce que l'on connaît.
Le livre est préfacé par le grimpeur spécialiste du Hoggar, Thomas Dulac, auteur du topoguide Escalade au Sahara: Massif du Hoggar (2005), et l'univers exploratoire et poétique de ce récit est incarné dès sa couverture, entièrement dessinée à la main à l'encre de Chine par l'illustratrice Marion Sarano, qui dépeint l'explorateur face à l'immensité de la montagne sous un ciel étoilé.
