Appel à candidature pour la sélection des artistes plasticiens pour la 3ème édition de la Résidence Internationale d’Artistes « Gamesu » à Agoué (RIAG-AGOUE 2023) en République du Bénin.

Le projet Résidence Internationale d’Artistes »Gamesu » à Agoué (RIAG Agoué) vise la valorisation de la culture à travers les arts, mets, rythmes, chants et danses. C’est aussi un tremplin pour révéler Agoué, ville où a lieu annuellement la résidence, au monde à travers ses richesses et potentiels culturels, artistiques et touristiques.
Cette résidence va donc permettre de mettre en exergue tous ces patrimoines matériels et surtout immatériels.
C’est une idée unique et une première dans la zone. La RIAG – Agoué connaitra son apothéose au bout de 14 jours de création artistique avec le vernissage et l’exposition des œuvres d’art réalisées, les spectacles de chants et danses traditionnels et la dégustation des mets locaux en voie de disparition.
Le bien-fondé de la résidence est pour retracer l’histoire d’Agoué à travers les œuvres d’arts à exposer et le tourisme pour attirer plus de visiteurs.
Enfin, RIAG – Agoué participera à la restauration de certaines valeurs culturelles en voie de disparition.

La période retenue est du 9 au 30 septembre 2023
La durée de l’édition 2023 dont le thème est : »Héritages » est donc de 21 jours.
RIAG Agoué sera ouverte par un atelier de création des artistes qui produiront des œuvres sur une période de 14 jours en rapport avec la thématique.
Ensuite il y aura le vernissage suivi de l’exposition des œuvres.
Au cours de la dernière semaine, les spectacles de chants, rythmes et danses seront organisés ainsi que les stands de dégustation des plats locaux.
Objectifs du projet de résidence RIAG-Agoué
Objectif général
Par ce projet de résidence, Cultur’Action a pour objectif de contribuer au développement culturel d’Agoué en accompagnant la création artistique, valoriser ses ressources et compétences et élargir l’offre culturelle en favorisant la rencontre entre artistes et publics.
Objectifs spécifiques
– Mettre à disposition d’une vingtaine d’artistes les moyens techniques, logistiques et financiers nécessaires à la recherche et à la création d’œuvres d’art,
– Favoriser la diffusion, la valorisation et la visibilité du travail artistique mené au cours la résidence,
– Promouvoir un cadre de rencontre, d’échanges et de partage d’expériences entre artistes de divers horizons,
– Alimenter l’activité économique locale à travers la présence permanente des artistes (logement, restauration, transport, etc à Agoué et ses environs),
– Faire découvrir les atouts et attraits touristiques d’Agoué aux artistes.

Les artistes de tous les pays d’Afrique résidant en Afrique ou ailleurs peuvent faire acte de candidature.
Les artistes plasticiens non africains peuvent également candidater.
Conditions
– Être capable de prendre en charge son transport international,
– Être capable de prendre en charge son assurance santé
– Fournir la preuve de la profession d’artiste plasticien
– Fournir une lettre de motivation
– Fournir un portfolio
– Être prêt à signer un engagement de bonne conduite
– Être prêt à signer la convention de participation une fois sélectionné(e)
– Avoir ses outils de travail et si possible du matériel personnel jugé utile.
En plus de ces conditions, les artistes non africains doivent :
– Être capable de prendre en charge leur restauration (13euros/jour/artiste)
– Être capable de prendre en charge leur hébergement (15 euros/jour/artiste).
L’ONG Cultur’Action se charge de :
– Assurer la restauration des participants sur les 21 jours,
– Assurer l’hébergement des participants sur les 21 jours. Toutefois, le participant qui souhaite rester seul dans sa chambre devra prendre en charge les frais y afférents. L’organisation se charge de lui trouver la chambre de son goût mais entièrement à la charge de l’artiste.
– Disposer d’une boîte pharmaceutique pour les premiers soins,
– Mettre à disposition le matériel nécessaire de travail,
– Assurer les frais de visites touristiques
– Assurer le transport interne
N.B : A la limite de fonds mobilisés et disponibles, Cultur’Action POURRAIT octroyer un forfait à tous les participants comme perdiem (ceci n’est pas une obligation pour Cultur’Action)

Call for applications for the selection of visual artists for the 3rd edition of the International Residency of Artists « Gamesu » in Agoué (RIAG-AGOUE 2022) in the Republic of Benin.

The project International Residency of Artists »Gamesu » in Agoué (RIAG Agoué) aims to promote culture through the arts, food, rhythms, songs and dances. It is also a springboard to reveal Agoué, the town where the residency takes place annually, to the world through its cultural, artistic and tourist wealth and potential.
This residency will therefore enable all these tangible and especially intangible heritages to be highlighted.
It is a unique idea and a first in the area. The RIAG – Agoué will culminate after 14 days of artistic creation with the opening and exhibition of the works of art produced, traditional song and dance performances and the tasting of local dishes that are disappearing.
The purpose of the residency is to retrace the history of Agoué through the artworks to be exhibited and tourism to attract more visitors.
Finally, RIAG – Agoué will participate in the restoration of certain disappearing cultural values.

The period chosen is from 9 to 30 September 2023
The duration of the 2023 edition whose theme is: »Inheritance » is therefore 21 days.
RIAG Agoué will be opened by a creative workshop for artists who will produce works over a period of 14 days in relation to the theme.
Then there will be a vernissage followed by the exhibition of the works.
During the last week, the performances of songs, rhythms and dances will be organised as well as the tasting stands of local dishes.
Objectives of the RIAG-Agoué residency project
General objective
Through this residency project, Cultur’Action aims to contribute to the cultural development of Agoué by supporting artistic creation, enhancing its resources and skills and broadening the cultural offer by promoting encounters between artists and the public.
Specific objectives
– To provide around twenty artists with the technical, logistical and financial means necessary to research and create works of art,
– To encourage the dissemination, promotion and visibility of the artistic work carried out during the residency,
– To promote a framework for meetings, exchanges and sharing of experiences between artists from different backgrounds,
– To feed the local economic activity through the permanent presence of the artists (accommodation, catering, transport, etc. in Agoué and its surroundings),
– To make artists discover the assets and tourist attractions of Agoué.
Artists concerned
– Visual artists
– Storytellers
– Performers
Application
– Artists from all African countries living in Africa or elsewhere can apply.
– Non-African visual artists may also apply.
Requirements
– Be able to take care of your international transport,
– Be able to pay for health insurance
– Proof of profession as a visual artist
– Provide a letter of motivation
– Provide a portfolio
– Be willing to sign a commitment of good conduct
– Be prepared to sign the participation agreement once selected
– Have their own working tools and, if possible, personal materials deemed useful.
In addition to these conditions, non-African artists must :
– Be able to pay for their own catering (13 euros/day/artist)
– Be able to pay for their accommodation (15 euros/day/artist).
The NGO Cultur’Action is responsible for :
– Providing food for the participants over the 21 days,
– Provide accommodation for the participants over the 21 days. However, participants who wish to stay alone in their room will have to pay the related costs. The organisation will find a room of his/her liking, but this will be entirely at the artist’s expense.
– To have a pharmaceutical box for first aid,
– Provide the necessary working materials,
– Provide the necessary working materials, – Provide the costs of tourist visits
– Provide internal transport
N.B.: To the extent that funds are available, Cultur’Action COULD provide a lump sum to all participants as a per diem (this is not an obligation for Cultur’Action)
