Come and experience culture, art, and atmosphere at the Kizimkazi Cultural Music Festival 2013. Following the success of the last festival, the Kizimkazi Cultural Music Festival 2013 will host some of the most outstanding artists that Zanzibar has to offer including new performers and dance troupes. The festival will feature renowned artists performing music such as Taarab, Kidumbaki, Ngoma, Afro Jazz, Swahili Instrumental Classics, Swahili Dance Music & Various folk groups & performers. 

As the day draws to an end and, when the tide goes out and the dhows and jahazis are anchored, the center of this quaint fishing village will come alive with cultural celebration! Imagine listening to Bi Kidude’s traditional taarab as the sun sets behind picturesque palm trees, or feeling the pounding of the stage to the beat of Borafya dancers, white painted faces illuminated under the stars… The moon lights your feet as you dance to the mixes of world music spun by DJ’s in The Electric Bathroom Arena (Which starts at 10pm and goes on till 10am the next day). Celebrate the New Year with us and enjoy Kizimkazi, the culture of Zanzibar, and the music of East Africa.
