Noura, une jeune femme arabe, se marrie secrétement à son ami Daniel, Américain et gay, afin d’obtenir une Green card (carte de séjour). Elle veut rester aux USA et devenir une artiste alors que sa famille très conservatrice l’a envoyée pour étudier la médecine. Tout se passe bien jusqu’à ce que le père de Noura débarque aux USA sans s’annoncer.
