After losing his job, Habib suffers a family drama, then a social decline. Today, at 58, Habib has lost almost everything. He earns his living by collecting empty bottles.

25 years, Habib looses his job and his German wife. In order to maintain a relationship to his children, he stays in Berlin. He lives together with his eldest son, Maher. Every night, Habib strolls through the streets collecting empty bottles to earn his living. In poetry and memories of the past he finds the power to carry on gracefully. Young Tunisian director Selim Harbi sensitively draws the portrait of an unusual path in Germany.

Nach einer 25-jahrigen Karriere als Pilot in Syrien verliert Habib seinen Job und seine deutsche Frau. Um den Kontakt zu seinen Kindern nicht zu verlieren, bleibt Habib in Berlin. Nur Maher, der  lteste Sohn, lebt bei ihm. Für seinen Lebensunterhalt zieht Habib tagt glich durch die Nacht und sammelt Flaschen. Die Poesie und die Erinnerungen an eine bessere Vergangenheit geben ihm Kraft, die Gegenwart mit Würde zu ertragen. Der junge tunesische Regisseur Selim Harbi portraitiert sensibel ein ungew hnliches arabisches Schicksal in Deutschland.
